ABOUT THE ZOA
The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) is the oldest and perhaps the largest solidly pro-Israel organization in the United States and is a charter member of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.
The ZOA was founded in 1897 with the primary goal of supporting the re-establishment of the Jewish State in the land which has been the continuous homeland of Jews over millennia. The ZOA’s support was crucial in mobilizing the backing of the U.S. Government and the American People fro the recognition of Israel in 1948 and continues in its unwavering support of the Jewish State of Israel.
For over a century the ZOA has stood steadfast in its efforts for the Jewish State of Israel in trying times as well as good times, in adversity, in war and in peace.
The ZOA’s presidents have included Jewish luminaries such as Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis for whom our chapter is named.
With a national membership of over 30,000 and active chapters throughout the United States, the ZOA today works tirelessly to strengthen American-Israeli relations, and support Israel through educational activities, public affairs programs, and activities promoting pro-Israel legislation on Capitol Hill. The ZOA constantly strives to unmask and oppose Israel’s enemies in all their venues, including local, national and international organizations, and college and university campuses among others; and by all their means, including media, textbooks, public programs, presentations, and books.
ZOA IS TAKING AND WILL CONTINUE TO TAKE ITS PLACE ON THE FRONT LINES OF PRO-ISRAEL ACTIVISM.
